Salesloft vs Skylar: Which Fits Sales Coaches and Training Companies?

Salesloft records, transcribes and analyses real sales calls, then turns them into summaries, scores and coaching moments inside a wider revenue platform. Skylar turns a coach or training firm's methodology into client-customised AI roleplay, delivered under their own brand.

Salesloft records, transcribes and analyses real sales calls, then turns them into summaries, scores and coaching moments inside a wider revenue platform. Skylar turns a coach or training firm's methodology into client-customised AI roleplay, delivered under their own brand.

Short answer: Choose Salesloft if you run an internal revenue team and want engagement, real-call intelligence, deal and pipeline workflow and forecasting in one platform, with coaching drawn from calls that already happened. Choose Skylar if you are a sales coach, trainer or training company delivering your own methodology to separate client businesses, and you need that methodology to run as practice your clients work through under your name.

One learns from the call. The other prepares for it.

A note on the name first, because it changed. Salesloft’s merger page says Clari and Salesloft now operate as one company, with Salesloft as the go-forward company and platform brand. Clari Forecast keeps the Clari name; the broader capabilities, including conversation intelligence, continue as part of Salesloft. If you are comparing tools this year, compare Salesloft.

One test sorts it. Are you improving one company’s calls, or delivering your method to many companies?

What Salesloft is built for

Start with the raw material: conversations that already took place.

Salesloft’s conversation intelligence page says the product automatically records, transcribes and analyses sales calls. It describes AI call summaries, objection tracking, call scoring, CRM updates and coaching moments based on real buyer conversations.

That is a strong loop for a manager. You see what was said, where the deal wobbled, which objection keeps landing, and which rep needs a word before the next call.

It also sits inside something bigger. Salesloft’s current public product material describes a wider revenue platform: sales engagement, conversation intelligence, deal management, pipeline inspection and forecasting, with forecasting including Clari Forecast. If you want one system covering outreach through to the number, that breadth is the argument.

Be precise about what this is, because it shapes the decision. It is coaching from evidence after the fact. The reviewed pages describe analysis of real calls, not simulated practice before them.

Pricing

No current public Salesloft list price was verified on the pages we reviewed. An older Clari pricing page is still live, but it predates the go-forward Salesloft brand, so we are not treating it as current Salesloft pricing or implementation policy.

Ask Salesloft for a quote, the commercial model, contract term and implementation scope at the same time.

Integrations and technical fit

We are not listing named connections here, because we did not verify a current integration list on the pages we reviewed. Salesloft’s own product and integration pages are the right starting point, and anything that matters to procurement should come back in writing.

What we could not confirm

Across the Salesloft pages we reviewed, we did not find published detail on delivery to several external training clients, white-label branding or a partner model for training companies.

That is a statement about those pages, not a claim about what Salesloft can or cannot do. If multi-client delivery is a requirement, ask Salesloft directly.

What Skylar is built for

Skylar starts from a different seat. You are not the revenue team. You train them. Your clients are separate businesses with their own buyers, their own products and their own objections — and each one pays you for your method.

Our sales trainers page sets out how that works. Skylar takes your methodology and turns it into AI roleplay customised per client: their buyers, their products, their objections, and the assessment criteria you choose to grade against. Our guide on how roleplay scenarios are created shows the build in detail.

That last part is the whole point. Your method is the product you sell. If the practice teaches a generic framework, your client is learning someone else’s approach with your name on the invoice.

Roleplay is not the whole system either. Skylar gives your clients courses, resources, roleplays, assessments and reviews of real conversations in one place. The workshop stops being an event and becomes a programme that keeps running between your live sessions.

Skylar also connects to the tools your clients already run on. It has 300 working integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gong, Fireflies and Google Sheets. Available connections and setup vary by system — see the integrations hub.

For established training firms there is white-label delivery: your logo, your colours, your domain and your company name. Scope and pricing are agreed at setup. Clients see your brand, because your brand is what they bought.

Choose Salesloft if

  • Your reps are your colleagues, not your clients.
  • You want real sales calls recorded, transcribed and analysed automatically.
  • Call summaries, objection tracking and call scoring are the coaching signals you want.
  • You need coaching to sit next to engagement, deal management, pipeline inspection and forecasting.
  • You want conversation data writing back into your CRM.
  • You are happy to run a commercial conversation to get pricing and technical detail.

Choose Skylar if

  • You are an independent sales coach, trainer or training company, and your clients are other businesses.
  • Your methodology is what clients pay for, and the practice has to teach it.
  • You need roleplays customised per client, with their buyers, products, objections and assessment criteria.
  • You want reps to rehearse before the real call, not only review it afterwards.
  • You want courses, resources, roleplays, assessments and real-conversation reviews in one system.
  • You are an established firm and want the platform to carry your own brand.

Salesloft vs Skylar FAQs

Is Salesloft the same as Clari now?

Salesloft’s merger page says Clari and Salesloft operate as one company, with Salesloft as the go-forward company and platform brand. Clari Forecast keeps the Clari name, while broader capabilities including conversation intelligence continue as part of Salesloft.

What does Salesloft’s conversation intelligence do?

Its conversation intelligence page says the product automatically records, transcribes and analyses sales calls, with AI call summaries, objection tracking, call scoring, CRM updates and coaching moments drawn from real buyer conversations.

Does Salesloft provide AI roleplay?

The Salesloft pages we reviewed describe recording, transcribing and analysing real sales calls. They do not describe simulated roleplay practice. If roleplay is on your requirements list, ask Salesloft directly rather than assuming either way.

How much does Salesloft cost?

No current public list price was verified on the pages we reviewed. Ask Salesloft for a quote, the commercial model and contract term at the same time.

What does Salesloft integrate with?

We did not verify a current integration list on the pages we reviewed. Check Salesloft’s product and integration pages, then confirm the specific connections your stack needs in writing.

Is Salesloft a good fit for a sales training company?

The pages we reviewed describe an internal revenue platform, not branded delivery to several external training clients. If you run a training business, ask Salesloft how that would work before you commit.

Can Skylar deliver my methodology across different clients?

Yes. That is the design. You build the practice around your method, then customise each client’s roleplays so their reps face buyers, products and objections that match their market, graded against the criteria you set.

Can I put my own brand on Skylar?

Skylar offers white-label delivery for established training firms — your logo, your colours, your domain and your company name, with scope and pricing agreed at setup.

The short answer

Salesloft is the better fit for an internal revenue team that wants real conversations captured and analysed, with coaching signals sitting alongside engagement, deal workflow and forecasting. Skylar is the better fit for a coach or training company delivering a methodology across separate client engagements, under their own name.

If that second description is you, have a look at the Sales Coach Hub to see how other trainers run their programmes — then talk to us about what your version would look like.
