Poised vs Skylar: Live Call Feedback or Sales Roleplay Practice?

Poised is an AI communication coach that gives real-time feedback on the calls you are already in, with trend analysis and personalised coaching. Skylar is an AI sales roleplay and coaching platform built for coaches and trainers who run their own methodology across client engagements.

Short answer: choose Poised if you want feedback while you are speaking in your real online meetings, plus trends on how your communication changes over time. Choose Skylar if you are a sales coach, trainer or training company and the job is structured practice — repeatable buyer roleplays built on your methodology, run before your clients’ reps sit in front of a real buyer.

Both tools want the same outcome: better conversations. They act at different moments. Poised works during the call. Skylar works before it.

That timing difference decides most of this comparison.

What Poised does

Poised presents itself as an AI-powered communication coach. The pitch is real-time feedback, trend analysis and personalised coaching — help while you speak, then a view of how you are changing over time.

Its sales page puts that to work on client calls, describing teams that use Poised to improve outcomes on the calls they run.

Read plainly, that is a strong idea for one job: you are in the meeting, the coaching is live, and nobody has to schedule anything. For a rep who talks too fast under pressure, or a founder who fills silence with filler words, feedback in the moment is hard to beat.

One thing to check before you buy. Poised’s public material does not, on the pages we reviewed, spell out which conferencing platforms its live feedback runs on. Its privacy text names third-party communication integrations including Zoom, Teams, Slack, Google Meet and Microsoft Calendar, but a listed integration is not the same statement as confirmed real-time coverage. If you live in one particular meeting tool, ask Poised directly and get the answer in writing.

Where Skylar starts instead

Skylar is an AI sales roleplay and coaching platform. The unit of work is not a live meeting. It is a practice session.

For a coach or trainer, that changes what the software has to hold. Your methodology is the product your client bought. So roleplays are built on your method and your assessment criteria, then adapted to each client’s products, buyers, objections and situations. The framework stays put. The context moves.

That is the difference between a tool that teaches some default idea of a good conversation and a tool that reinforces yours. For an individual improving their own delivery, a sensible default is useful. For a trainer running five engagements, a default is a leak.

You can see how that model runs across several clients on the sales trainers page, and established firms can deliver it under their own brand through white-label delivery.

Pricing

Poised publishes a price, which is more than most tools in this space manage.

Its pricing page lists Poised Pro at US$19 per month, or US$13 per month billed annually, with a free trial. The team plan is custom priced. This is public pricing checked on 1 September 2026, not a quote — confirm current figures with Poised before you budget.

Skylar does not publish a price list. Ask the team what a programme for your engagements would look like.

Poised’s security page says the software is hosted in AWS facilities in the USA. It says connections use SSL/HTTPS, and that customer data including call recordings and transcripts is encrypted at rest and in transit. It says Poised stores only the recording of the participant using Poised, and only after explicit recording permission.

Two notes on how to read that. These are the vendor’s own statements, which is normal — treat them as the start of a review rather than the review itself. And the page references AWS compliance assurances rather than a Poised certification, so do not assume a SOC 2 certification is in place. If your client’s procurement team needs one, ask for the document.

Poised’s privacy policy identifies Deepgram Inc. as the policy operator. It describes calendar and meeting-platform data, and says Poised can collect and retain audio and video for meetings the user enables. It lists third-party communication integrations including Zoom, Teams, Slack, Google Meet and Microsoft Calendar.

None of that is unusual for a tool that sits on live meetings. It does mean the buyer carries a decision. Recording real client conversations pulls in your own consent practice, your client’s policies and your data-handling commitments. Work out what your engagements require before you roll anything out, and take proper advice where it matters. That is your call to make, not a vendor’s.

Hold Skylar to the same standard. Security and data handling are best discussed directly with the team, especially where a client contract carries its own requirements.

Delivering to clients: what we could not confirm

This is the part that decides it for anyone who trains for a living.

A training business does not just need a good coaching tool. It needs to run that tool across separate client organisations, keep them apart, and put its own name on the front.

On the public pages we reviewed, we did not find documentation confirming any of the following for Poised:

  • a trainer or partner marketplace
  • white-label delivery
  • multi-client administration
  • methodology licensing
  • tenant separation for external clients
  • LMS delivery
  • a public API

That is not the same as saying none of it exists. It means the public material does not answer the question, so ask Poised directly if your business depends on it.

Skylar answers those questions openly, because they are the design rather than an extension of it. If you want the wider picture on tooling for this model, the Sales Coach Hub collects the guides and comparisons in one place.

Choose Poised if

  • You want coaching while you speak, in the meetings you are already running.
  • You are improving your own delivery, or a small internal team’s, rather than delivering training to clients.
  • Trend analysis over time is what you want to see — how your communication moves, month on month.
  • A published, low, per-seat price matters to you.
  • Your consent practice and your clients’ policies allow real client calls to be recorded and analysed.

Choose Skylar if

  • You sell training, and the people practising are your clients.
  • Your methodology is the product, and practice should be scored against your framework rather than a generic one.
  • Reps need repetitions before they enter a live client conversation, not just feedback once they are in one.
  • Each client needs roleplays built around their own products, buyers, objections and situations.
  • You run several engagements at once and need one method to keep its shape across all of them.
  • You want client-facing delivery under your own brand.

Poised vs Skylar FAQs

What is Poised?

Poised describes itself as an AI-powered communication coach, offering real-time feedback, trend analysis and personalised coaching. Its sales page says teams use it to improve outcomes on client calls.

Does Poised do AI sales roleplay?

The official pages we reviewed present Poised as coaching on real conversations — live feedback, trends and personalised coaching — rather than a library of buyer roleplay scenarios. If practice against a simulated buyer is what you need, confirm directly with Poised what it offers.

How much does Poised cost?

Poised’s pricing page lists Poised Pro at US$19 per month, or US$13 per month billed annually, with a free trial. The team plan is custom priced. That is public pricing checked on 1 September 2026, so verify before you commit.

Where does Poised store data, and is it encrypted?

Poised’s security page says the software is hosted in AWS facilities in the USA, that connections use SSL/HTTPS, and that customer data including call recordings and transcripts is encrypted at rest and in transit. These are vendor statements — request the underlying documentation during procurement.

Is Poised SOC 2 certified?

Its security page references AWS compliance assurances rather than a Poised certification, so do not treat it as a SOC 2 certification. Ask Poised directly if your client’s procurement process requires one.

Does Poised record everyone on the call?

Poised’s security page says it stores only the recording of the participant using Poised, and only after explicit recording permission. Your own consent obligations still apply, and they vary by jurisdiction and by client policy.

Which meeting tools does Poised mention?

Its privacy policy names third-party communication integrations including Zoom, Teams, Slack, Google Meet and Microsoft Calendar, and describes calendar and meeting-platform data. It does not, on the pages reviewed, confirm which platforms the real-time feedback runs on. Confirm that directly.

Can a sales trainer white-label Poised for their clients?

We did not find public documentation confirming white-label delivery, multi-client administration, tenant separation for external clients or a partner programme. If that model is how your business works, ask Poised before you build a client offer on it.

Which is better for sales coaches and trainers, Poised or Skylar?

It depends on the moment you want to influence. Poised is the better fit for real-time feedback inside actual online meetings, for yourself or an internal team. Skylar is the better fit when the objective is structured, repeatable sales-roleplay practice based on your own methodology, delivered across client engagements.

Can Skylar keep my methodology consistent across different clients?

Yes. Roleplays are built on your methodology and assessment criteria, then adapted to each client’s products, buyers, objections and situations. You are not rebuilding the programme every time you sign someone new.

The short version

Poised is the stronger choice for a person or an internal team who wants coaching in the moment, on the meetings they are already in, at a published per-seat price.

Skylar is the stronger choice when training is your business, your method is your product, and reps need to practise it properly before a real buyer is on the other end of the line.

If that is you, start with the sales trainers page and see how the delivery model works.

Poised details here come from its official public pages, reviewed on 1 September 2026. Vendor pages change — verify current details directly before you buy.
